This world, consists of good and evil, there is direct correlation between what is happening with Israel and what is happening to the nations.
When Israel was expelled into the darkness of exile, the nations received the light especially the Christianized Western nations.
As lsrael is entering the light of the Geulah now, the table is reversed and thus the nations as announced in the prophecies have entered their time of tribulations.
The purpose of the darkness (tribulations) is for the good of the nations,in order to bring about the searching of God and repenting from their evil ways. Asking for forgiveness from the nation Israel is necessary so they can enter in turn to the Geulah.
For, behold, in those days, and in that time ,when I bring back the captivity
of Yehuda and Yerushalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Yehoshafat,
and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Yisrael,
whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided up my land.
(Joel 4: 1-2)
Thus says thy Lord the Lord,and thy God that pleads the cause of his people,
Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of staggering, the deep bowl of my fury;
thou shall no more drink it again: but I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee;
who have said in thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over :
and thou has laid thy body like the ground, and like the street, to them that go over.
(Isaiah 51: 22-23)
The words of the covenant of Abraham under which Israel was chosen to be the light of nations will be evident not only for himself but for the whole world:
(…) I will give them their reward in truth, and I will make an everlasting
covenant with them. And their seed shall be known among the nations,
and their offspring among the peoples: all that see them shall
acknowledge them, that they are the seed that the Lord has blessed.
(Isaiah 61: 8-9)
But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the
house of the Lord shall be established on the top of the mountains,
and it shall be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall stream
towards it. And many nations shall come, and to the house of the God
of Ya’aqov; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his
paths; for Tora shall go forth from Zion, and the word of the Lord
from Yerushalem. And He shall judge between many peoples, and decide
concerning strong nations afar off; (…) (Micah 4:1-3)
