If our generation has got today to live Geulah, we are forbidden to think that we are better than those we were before. It is not a man in this world whose personal merits make it worthy of inheriting the Geulah. The Geulah is a gift Exclusive of the grace of God:
Tell the house of Israel: Thus said the Lord God: This is not because of you that I have the house of Israel, but for my holy name, you have discredited among the nations where you went. (Ezekiel 36, 22)
(…) This is not because of our merits that we spread our supplications before thee, but because of your great mercy. Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, be attentive act without delay, for your own honor, O my God (Daniel 9, 18-19)
